Bird boxes at street level? No, that would be too easy for the local kitty cats!
It was environmental awareness that was top of the agenda for a group of young adults from Liber8(Streetbase) who visited us as part of the John Muir Trust environmental awareness programme aimed at “giving something back” to the environment and community. The group of around 12 young adults stayed over the weekend in our purpose built cabins set within our lovely natural grounds. Saturday was spent working with our instructor Stoby on activities to encourage team building and working together, with the focus on Sunday being conservation. The result some stunning bird boxes set high up in the woods for all to see, including prospective feathered occupants!
“Fantastic, pics are great. Thank you very much. We also thank all staff at Wiston for their help and expertise surrounding the delivery of the John Muir Award”
Paula Greenan, Liber8 (Streetbase)
"Thanks again for all you did to get things ready for the group. I'm looking forward to future weekends at Wiston next year, it's an excellent setting for us and works so well for our groups"
Kenny Less, Liber8 (Streetbase)

The John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme focused on wild places. It encourages awareness and responsibility for the natural environment, in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration. As approved providers with the John Muir Trust, Wiston Lodge is able to offer the “discover”, “explore” and “conserve” challenges within our wild and natural estate whilst in a safe and secure environment within our beautiful grounds.
