Holiday Adventures

The October break has just finished and with it the end of our pilot year of Holiday Adventures for local children.

October Holiday group

We are very pleased with the way it has gone and we have had 93 local children pass through the programme taking anything between 1 and 5 days' activities.

Those on the October programme who completed 5 days were awarded their Bronze Adventurer's Award.  If they return again and complete a further five days they will earn their Silver, then Gold and finally Platinum awards.  Each award will give them more responsibility to assist the Instructors in further visits.

There was a marvellous variety of activities on offer for the 8-13 year olds; climbing, high ropes, team building and problem solving activities, canoeing, raft building and a canoe river trip with Stu or Wendy.  Added to this they could do Wilderness Craft with Blair; shelter building, fire lighting, listening, movement and observation games, campfire cooking and more.

For the Bumblebees aged 5-8 yrs they had themed days such as: Hobbit’s Hideaway, Pirates treasure Hunt, Fairies, Goblins and Magic and much more with Wendy and Beccie. We will be building on this success next year with even greater things planned including a one week’s Summer Camp.
